Mara, the Parasaurolophus
Little-known fact, Parasaurolophus is my favorite dinosaur. So when I came across the dinosaur plane some time ago, my first goal was to see if Parasaurolophuses inhabited it, and sure enough, they do! Many of the dinosaurs on this plane are very skittish to things that they are unfamiliar with, so I don't expect many dinosaurs to show up in the shop until they get more used to seeing me around. Mara is one of two Parasaurolophuses that has passed vetting thus far, and since she and the other one don't really get along, she agreed to help me find her a new family that she can love just as much as my family.
Mara is a large dinosaur, though not huge by Parasaurolophus standards. She is about thirty feet long from the tip of her snout to the tip of her tail, and at her tallest point (the top of her back at her hips), she is about seven feet tall). She has a very long crest jutting forward from the back of her head, the hallmark of all Parasaurolophuses. She usually stands around on four legs, especially when she's browsing for food, but she runs on two legs. She's primarily a shade of warm brown, with some lighter tan on her underside, and her beak and crest are a darker brown in color.
Mara was a grieving mother when I first met her--she had lost her chicks to a predator shortly before my first visit. She very quickly became curious over me and some of my companions who had joined me on my journey, and began to treat us like we were her chicks. Needless to say, she is a very motherly sort who will most likely take any smaller or younger companions under her care and tend to them like a mother would. She is very nurturing and is quite happy to just sit with you when she isn't hungry. When she is hungry, she might wander off on her own to go browsing for food, but she will always come back to you whenever she is satisfied. If she decides to "adopt" you, she will become very fiercely protective of you as well, as a mother will protect her chicks. However, please approach this protectiveness with caution, as she may try to fight off things that she stands no chance against.
Mara would make a fine companion for any level of expertise, from beginners to veterans, however I feel she would do best in a smaller spirit family that doesn't have any companions that are bigger than her or that can shrink down to a smaller size as she gets accustomed to her new family.
As a note, I do not own the picture used in this listing. I chose this image to represent Mara.
