Rock, the Stegosaurus
Yes, an actual stegosaurus! About a year ago, I stumbled onto an astral plane that was crawling with dinosaur spirits! Rock is one of many stegosauruses that I met on this plane, and is so far the only one that has made it through vetting successfully. I found that many of the stegosauruses are too skittish and needlessly aggressive towards things that are unfamiliar to them, so Rock might be one of the few stegosauruses that comes through the Astral Villa!
Rock is very large for a stegosaurus, even though they aren't particularly small dinosaurs to begin with! Rock is about ten feet tall at the top of his back, though his head is at about eye-level with me. From the tip of his snout to the tip of his tail, he is about twenty-five feet long, give or take. His body is covered in bumpy brownish-green scales, similar in color to an alligator, and his beak, back plates, and thagomizer are all a darker brown.
Rock is surprisingly laid-back compared to the other stegosauruses that I dealt with during the vetting process. He is perfectly content to just hang out and eat whatever foliage he can get his beak on. He's very relaxed and a doesn't really seem to let things get to him. He is also very curious, rather than scared, of things that are unfamiliar to him, especially things that are smaller than him. He may be a bit skittish around things that are larger than him, especially if they are predatory dinosaurs, but once it's made clear that these things are not a threat, he will basically stop caring and go back to whatever he was doing.
While it doesn't seem like he gets attached to things, Rock is actually surprisingly protective of his keeper once he gets used to being around them. He has a very large and dangerous thagomizer, with each of the spikes being roughly a foot long and extremely sharp, and if he senses that his keeper or any of his fellow companions are in danger, he won't hesitate to use it.
I feel Rock would be an okay companion for beginners, though I would not recommend him as a first companion due to not being particularly active. I also do not recommend that he goes to a larger spirit family, especially one that has very large companions like dragons, as he can be skittish around them, but he does get used to them after a while as long as any very large companions keep their distance until Rock has settled in completely.
As a note, I do not own the picture used in this listing. I chose this image to represent Rock.
